My Computers

This page is about the modern tech that I use - I'll be making a page for my vintage collection later, but I want those to be more detailed.

SpaceBook i9

Apple MacBook Pro 15" (2019)

This is my main mobile workstation - I really like UNIX but never get on well with Linux, so macOS is a good choice for me.

Despite some issues I've had with similar Macs, this does everything I need. It has modern I/O I actually like, and a great display. I don't mind the keyboard too much.

This one's called SpaceBook i9 because I've had a space gray MacBook and a previous 2016 MacBook Pro which was SpaceBook Pro. i9's were pretty new when this came out, so I put it in the name.

Sussudio

Dell Precision 5820 X-Series

My primary fixed workstation after upgrading from the HP gaming PC I was using. It is configured to my exct specifications and is incredibly upgradeable. I probably would've gone with a Mac if Apple made on in this price point, but they don't make the computer I want, and this does a fine job at evreything I need it to.

It's named after a Phil Collins song.

Galaxy Book S

This is my ultraportable, it has LTE and USB-C so I can use any charger. Battery life is great assuming I'm running ARM apps, and there's no fans so it's quiet and doesn't get hot. It's really just used to web browse and write.

It doesn't really have a fun name yet.
